ECD Grants and Loans to Host Small Cities CDBG Discussion

Citizens and Elected Officials are Invited to Share Thoughts
 on the Program’s Objectives and Priorities

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Division of Grants and Loans will hold a meeting next week to hear recommendations from citizens and elected officials regarding the objectives and priorities for the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Results from this discussion will determine how CDBG funds will be administered by the State in the Fiscal Year 2010 Program Year.

WHAT:     Meeting to discuss objectives and priorities for the Small Cities Community Development Block
                 Grant Program.
WHEN:     Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 1:30 p.m.
WHERE:   Ed Jones Auditorium of the Ellington Agricultural Center, 440 Hogan Road in Nashville.

The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD) administers the CDBG Program to assist cities with a population of less than 50,000. Applications for funding for the new Program Year will be accepted by ECD until February 22, 2010.

The meeting is part of a public participation process requested by Governor Phil Bredesen to ensure the input of elected officials and interested citizens in the CDBG Program. Phillip Trauernicht, ECD Administrator of Program Management, will conduct the meeting. The meeting site is accessible for persons with a disability. For more information, call (615) 741-6201.
