GATLINBURG, Tenn. – The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the arrests of Kevin Matthew Flannery, age 62, president of M.K.M.K. Associates, Inc., dba Southland Car & Jeep Rentals in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Margaret Anne Flannery, age 60, president of X.M.K.M. Enterprises, Inc., dba Famous Fries in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Flannerys were arrested at their home in Gatlinburg by agents of the Department of Revenue with assistance of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department. Both were charged with tax evasion. Bond was set at $25,000 each.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the sentencing of Wendell Kaku, 56, to charges of sales tax evasion and theft.

NASHVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and subsequent arrest of Ajaykumar C. Parikh, age 53. On July 16, 2009, Parikh, the former manager of Chandni, Inc., dba Portland Discount Tobacco, located in Portland, Tenn., was arrested by special agents on charges of Sales Tax Evasion and Theft in Sumner County.
PULASKI, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue will be conducting roadside diesel fuel compliance checks in Giles County during daylight hours on Thursday, July 23. Internal Revenue Service fuel compliance officers often participate in these checks and may be present at this location.
