In 2005, six people died in six separate single vehicle crashes on Tennessee roads during the Christmas travel period. Two of the fatalities last year occurred in alcohol-related crashes.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., — The Department of Safety has opened a new Driver License Reinstatement Office Station at 306 Home Avenue in Maryville. The Reinstatement Office, which began serving customers on Monday, December 11th, is one of three across the state and is the first office dedicated to reinstatement in eastern Tennessee. The two other locations are in Memphis and Nashville. The new office is open from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
