Tennessee Highway Patrol & Southern Hills Family Practice Team Up to Save Lives

NASHVILLE --- While children across the mid-state area are heading back to school, many parents are working out their carpool responsibilities. One thing all parents and caregivers need to remember is to properly buckle up kids of all ages. To help answer questions and demonstrate how to properly restrain a child, the Tennessee Highway Patrol has partnered with Southern Hills Family Medicine of Brentwood to host a child passenger safety seat checkpoint on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Brentwood Library, located at 8109 Concord Road.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is teaming up with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Georgia State Patrol, Florida Highway Patrol and Alabama’s Department of Public Safety as well as local law enforcement agencies across Tennessee, for an intensive joint initiative aimed at reducing traffic fatalities and increasing safety. During the week of July 25 through August 1, 2009, nearly every available member of THP, including Colonel Mike Walker and his command staff and administrative personnel, will actively patrol the roads during the multi-state safety campaign, called “Take Back Our Highways.”

TDOT & TDOS Partner to Keep Teens “Between the Barrels”

NASHVILLE --- Today, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) announced the appointment of Captain Rex Prince as the new Captain over the Chattanooga District. He replaces Stacy D. Williams who has personally opted to return to the level of Troop Lieutenant. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Captain Prince back to the Highway Patrol and to benefit from his experience and leadership to the Chattanooga District,” stated Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Mike Walker. “We are excited he will once again be helping us advance the department’s mission of highway safety.”
