NASHVILLE – Work will begin this week on a $2 million project to replace a bridge on Chestnut Street in Nashville. Contractors will close a portion of Chestnut Street beginning Wednesday, August 5. Traffic will be detoured around the work zone throughout the project. The bridge is located near the Hagan/Chestnut Street intersection and crosses over the CSX Railroad.

 

  

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that $17.9 million in Recovery Act funds will be provided to 12 rural transit agencies in Tennessee. The agencies provide transit services to all 95 counties in Tennessee.  

 

“Many Tennesseans, particularly those with limited mobility, already rely on public transportation for their daily needs and many others would like to see expanded transit options,” said Bredesen. “The Recovery Act funds announced today will help rural transit providers in Tennessee improve service and replace aging fleets with safer, more reliable vehicles.”

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that Delta Human Resources Agency will receive $834,401 in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. The Delta Human Resources Agency provides public transportation for citizens in Fayette, Lauderdale, Tipton and non-urban sections of Shelby County.  

 

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that East Tennessee Human Resources Agency will receive $2.9 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. The ETHRA provides public transportation for citizens in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier and Union Counties.  

 

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that First Tennessee Human Resources Agency will receive $1.5 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. The FTHRA provides public transportation for citizens in Carter, Greene, Hawkins, Johnson, Washington, Sullivan and Unicoi Counties.  

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that Gatlinburg Mass Transit Service will receive $1 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. GMTS provides public transportation services for all of Gatlinburg.  

 

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that Hancock County Transportation will receive $92,259 in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. The Hancock County Transportation provides public transportation services for citizens in Hancock County.  

 

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that Mid-Cumberland Human Resources Agency will receive $2.4 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. The MCHRA provides public transportation for citizens in Cheatham, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson, Wilson and Davidson Counties.  

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that Northwest Tennessee Human Resources Agency will receive $1.3 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. The NWHRA provides public transportation for citizens in Benton, Carroll, Crockett, Dyer, Gibson, Henry, Lake, Obion and Weakley Counties.  

 

 

NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that the Pigeon Forge Fun Time Trolley will receive $1.1 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for rural transportation services. PFFTT provides public transportation services for all of the Pigeon Forge area.
