NASHVILLE – The Department of Human Services announced today that training will begin next week to prepare energy auditors and contractors to weatherize thousands of homes across Tennessee, including homes of some families not previously eligible for the program. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will provide up to $99 million for weatherization projects in Tennessee.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Housing Development Agency has received approval for its applications for Section 1602 and TCAP funding under the federal Recovery program. The funds are supporting the development of rental housing.
NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen and Commissioner of Education Dr. Timothy Webb today announced school food authority grants through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). These grants will fund the purchase of lunchroom equipment for school district’s participating in the National School Lunch Program.
The ARRA provides this funding as a one-time appropriation to Tennessee.
First Allocation of Tennessee Stabilization Funds Approved to Save Jobs, Drive Reform
NASHVILLE – Governor Phil Bredesen announced today the U.S. Department of Education has approved Tennessee’s application for the first $635 million available to the state through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) State Fiscal Stabilization Fund program. This represents 67 percent of the total stabilization funding available to Tennessee under this Recovery Act program. Tennessee will be eligible to apply for the remaining $313 million this fall.
